When people think about vacationing in Mexico, they think of sandy beaches, sunshine and blue skies. Yet there are other types of vacations in Mexico.
As is obvious, on top of the list are beach vacations as Mexico’s beaches such as Cancun, Acapulco,Mazatlan, Puerto Vallarta an Playa del Carmen are among the best.
Apart from this, you can also think about a “colonial cities” vacation, thanks to the Spanish. When they arrived there in the 16th century, they built a number of cities that have baroque architecture and mission churches. Three major cities are Queretaro, Guanajuato and San Miguel de Allende among others.
Next, you can consider the Copper Canyon vacation where visitors can see the Tarahumara and the Chihuahua regions and the Copper Canyon too. In fact, this canyon is 300 feet deeper than the Grand Canyon and should be visited if you ever want to see Mexico for what it is.
There’s also the all-inclusive resort vacation which allows visitors to check in and who will probably never leave the property. You can get accomodation, personal service and meals at a single price.
Another interesting vacation to take is the scuba diving one. This is because there are a number of locations for divers too. Two, in particular, include Cozumel and Cabo San Lucas. The former has water visibility upto 60 metres and more than 200 species of fish. Cozumel has decent water visibility too along with shipwrecks and underwater canyons.
Finally, there is the archaeological ruins vacation that runs throughout the country, thanks to a rich Maya and Aztec civilization. While some of these can be found on tourist maps, there are others that are hidden in the jungle.
